fade noise problem (help)

MessageAuthor

i have 2 setups. one is my project studio desktop at home. i also have a laptop studio setup. my desktop works great. when i record on-site i take my laptop. my laptop is win xp and was working with pro tools 6.4 before and it was flawless. i upgraded to pro tools 8 on both computers and all my fades that i did in my desktop now make a white noise that's loud and stop playback when i open the file on my laptop. to fix playback issues on my laptop, i have to erase all my fades. has anyone had this issue. everything else works great. help would be greatly appreciated.
