Wash wipe is stuck on.

MessageAuthor

Hi, recently my switch arm on my steering wheel for the wipers broke and wash wipe was stuck on. I managed to acquire a new switch arm for the wiper options and this seemed to fix it meaning the switch was broken. This week though the samething has happened again and i had to remove the fuse to stop it meaning i had no wipers or horn. I got myself a second hand switch arm but when i installed it the problem was still there, wash wipe was stuck on. Is there anyway to test the switch to see if i got a broken one, is this a common problem and if it is not the switch this time does anybody have any idea what might be the problem? I hope i explained my problem enough, im not sure on the term used for the controls for the wiper options hence i have called it a switch arm. Regards.

Hi, Do you have headlamp wash/wipers fitted? If so, the disconnect one then the other of the wiper motors under the headlamp as one will be shorting out causing the wash system to be on permanently... Des. . . ;)

Agreed. I can't remember how the 850 set-up works, but on 7/900's the overflow for the screenwash bottle drips onto the headlight wash/wipe motor.
